Iranian-American TV actress Yara Shahidi scored a coveted cameo in the latest music video to be released by Canadian rapper Drake, which hit the Internet on Friday night.
The video for “Nice for What” features a host of women from the American entertainment industry, including Olivia Wilde, Zoe Saldana, Tiffany Haddish and “Black Panther” star Letitia Wright, as well as Shahidi herself.
The “Black-ish” star, who now has her own spin-off series called “Grown-ish,” appears in the video wearing a Harvard University sweater while reading in a library. Shahidi is currently pursuing a degree in sociology and African-American studies at the Ivy League university.
She has been vocal about her Iranian-African-American heritage and even called herself “a proud Black Iranian.”
