Sam’s club, an American chain of membership-only retail warehouse clubs owned and operated by Walmart, is making efforts to take on competition from Amazon by introducing a number of new offers for its customers.
For starters, Sam’s Club has launched a new Plus membership which gives customer the choice to opt out of shipping costs by paying $100 a year . The deal also includes some in-store retail perks, including earlier shopping hours at the company’s brick and mortars.
Also, Sam Club’s new Club membership is for those who still like to get into their cars and go places. It costs $45 and like Plus will be available to both individuals and businesses.
The strategic move comes after the retail business announced closure of its closing 63 retail locations.
Sam’s Club released a press statement saying, “We’re serious about building a new Sam’s Club, and we’re just getting started. Members can expect more from us and we’re excited to exceed their every expectation. This is an exciting time to be in the club and we hope you’ll join us!”
