Dubai-based telco du has signed an agreement to convert Ajman’s Rumaila District into a smart residential area.
Ajman’s Municipality and Planning Department (MPD) and du will work together on the Smart Rumaila District Project, state news agency WAM announced.
MPD director-general, Abdulrahman Mohamed Al Nuaimi and Jihad Tayara, vice president Business Development and Partnerships – New Business and Innovation at du, signed the agreement. Du will design, construct and work smart systems in picked buildings on Omar bin Al Khattab Road utilizing the new ways for “building management, renewable energy, energy saving and the highest standards of safety and well-being for both residents and visitors”, WAM said.
This also involves conceivable and smart systems for street lighting, telecommunications, waste management and car parking places. The Rumaila neigbourhood is placed in the mid of old Ajman city, overlooking Ajman Cornish, and encircled by Al Rifa’ah, Al Nakhil, Al Rashidiya and Al Mirgab districts.
