Dubai Camel Hospital had a soft opening of the new vet facility exclusively for camels in December last year in Marmoum.
The Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, visit Dubai Camel Hospital in Marmoum area in Dubai.
Dubai Camel Hospital officially welcomes its patients recently, after a soft opening last year.
The world’s first facility of its kind, the hospital has room for up to 20 camels at a time, with state-of-the-art medical equipment and high quality operating theatres on site to treat the camels with the best of its resources. The new centre also boasts its own running track, for camels to rehabilitate following medical procedures.
Built at a cost of $10.8 million (AED 40m), the new facility was inaugurated last year and recently visited earlier this month by Sheikh Mohammed, the Ruler of Dubai, who visited the facility with Sheikh Hamdan, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Sheikh Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai.
