A new project called the Funoon District has been launched by Restaurant Secrets Inc (RSI) which is a Dubai based restaurant consultancy. Funoon District will be an extension of the Al Majaz Amphitheatre development, an initiative of Sharjah Government Media Bureau.
Reportedly with Funoon District RSI aims to build a new art, food and entertainment hub. The entertainment centre will house over 20 food trucks, kiosks, restaurants, and cafés, with the focus mostly on UAE brands.
Ralph Homer, CEO of RSI, said: “Funoon District has been incubated to be a casual social space that brings together people of different interests, talents, and backgrounds, [including] musicians, foodies, families, and artists.
“One of the unique elements of this destination is that it is dedicated to support remarkable home-grown brands. Every retailer and food and beverage (F&B) provider at Funoon is a brand that has been proudly made in the UAE,” he added.
As the UAE government regularly focuses on launching new projects that will attract tourists and residents alike, Funoon might just become the new local favorite tourist destination in Sharjah.
