Syrian singer Assala Nasri recently wrote an emotional post on the social media site, Instagram.
As airstrikes launched by the US, France and the UK continue to hit Syria on areas in the capital Damascus and the city of Homs, Nasri took to social media to express her grief. The airstrikes targeted the regime’s ability to use chemical weapons.
Nasri has been declaring her opposition to Bashar Assad’s regime, since the beginning of the conflict.
“In words mixed with tears and pain, no one would understand the amount of bitterness and pain among people who dream of a merciful death, my people over there are asking us to pray for them to rest, as hope is lost, and their dreams are now dead.”
She also hosts a television program which is called Soula , on Al Hayat TV and Dubai TV. The show presents guest musicians as though they were visiting Assala in her home in Cairo, Egypt.
