A wave of controversy started earlier, when news of Apple deliberately slowing its phones spread. Apple had apologized when it admitted that it had issued a software update that privileged power management over performance in older devices that had degraded batteries.
The U.S. Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission are reportedly investigating the matter. They will be looking into the software update that slowed down older models of the iPhone.
Reportedly, the U,S government has requested details on the issue. However it appears that the investigation is still in a primary stage. More details are awaited as the investigations continue further. Apparently many other countries other than the US are also investigated the matter.
